Description

Very little has happened within the 1855 Classification of the Médoc; there have been tumultuous recent exits from the St Emilion classification; and there is still no official quality hierarchy in Pomerol. Join our Wine Director, Mark Pardoe MW, to see who he believes is aspiring to enter the top echelons of quality in Bordeaux and why they could potentially lay claim to being a “New First Growth”.

Starting off the evening with a First Growth classified wine from the highly lauded 2015 vintage as our benchmark, Mark will guide you through seven wines fcovering each of the most famous communes of the Left and Right Banks, offering his thoughts and insights as to which producer is making the best wines in their respective sub-regions. This promises to be a fascinating tasting that is almost certain to inspire thought-provoking conversation and debate.

Wines to be tasted:

Undisclosed First Growth from 2015

A selection of wines spanning recent vintages chosen by Mark Pardoe MW from St Estèphe, Pauillac, St Julien, Margaux, Pessac-Léognan, St Emilion and Pomerol

Dress code: smart casual

NB Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s stock at the time of the event. Most of the wines will be available to order afterwards either via the website or BBX.
