Description

Two of the most common questions asked of us as fine wine merchants are “when is this wine ready to drink?” and “what will this wine taste like with 10 years of age?”. Well, with that in mind, the opportunity arises to join fine wine specialist Michael Dabbs for a four-course dinner paired with a range of wines from the 2013 vintage. Though initially considered a challenging vintage for many vignerons across France, we will explore whether this still rings true and delve into how wines can evolve after a period of maturation in a cellar.

Over the course of the evening, you will try wines from many of the famous wine regions of France, including two Grand Marque Champagnes, three Premier Cru Burgundies and even a First Growth Bordeaux.

Wines to be tasted:

2013 Berry Bros. & Rudd Champagne by Mailly, Grand Cru, Brut en magnum
2013 Champagne Pol Roger, Sir Winston Churchill, Brut
2013 Champagne Louis Roederer, Cristal, Brut
2013 Chassagne-Montrachet, Les Caillerets, 1er Cru, Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard, Burgundy
2013 Vosne-Romanée, Les Rouges, 1er Cru, Domaine Jean Grivot, Burgundy
2013 Nuits-St Georges, Aux Murgers, 1er Cru, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard, Burgundy
2013 Saumur-Champigny, Clos Rougeard, Loire
2013 Château Latour, Pauillac, Bordeaux en magnum

Dress code: smart casual

NB Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s stock at the time of the event. Most of the wines will be available to order afterwards.
