Super Tuscans: Building a Balanced Cellar with Barbara Drew MW, Thursday 20th April 2023

For the past few decades, the Super Tuscans have been quietly making their mark alongside the more traditional fine wine regions. Taking their inspiration from Bordeaux, many of these wines taste more French than Italian, and can age as long as some of the best Bordeaux wines. In this masterclass, Master of Wine Barbara Drew will be explaining how the Super Tuscans came to be, and why they are a vital addition to your cellar. We’ll compare them with a handful of well-known Bordeaux wines, to highlight the similarities and differences between these two regions. For those who are passionate about Bordeaux but looking to diversify their cellars, this tasting will highlight the producers to know, and the styles to look out for from Tuscany.
