One Day Wine School
Our one-day wine schools are a great way to get a thorough overview of a region in a day.
Starting in the morning with tea and coffee on arrival, we spend around 2 hours exploring the region, with 8-12 wines showcasing all different styles. With the basics covered, we head to our vaulted Napoleon cellar for an aperitif and to put the morning’s education to the test with 5 more wines paired over a delicious lunch, crafted by Head Chef Stewart Turner.
The day finishes around 3.30pm.

Description
Our One-Day Introductory Wine School is a relaxed and educational experience which will introduce you to the basics of wine tasting and the classic grape varieties of the world. Your tutor will guide you through different pairs of wines as you compare and contrast their styles and characteristics. As you work through the wines, you will be encouraged to think about your observations and link them to the country where the grapes were grown and its climate.
We will cover all the elements in the glass, such as acidity, ripeness, tannin and alcohol, whilst also exploring different production methods and how wines differ with age. You will learn to trust your intuitions and you may discover that you know more about wine than you think.
The morning tutorial is followed by a superb four-course food and wine-matching luncheon, during which you will have the chance to practice your newfound skills.
