Low winter temperatures lead to slightly difficult flowering in May, with ‘coulure’ affecting many of the grapes, especially the Touriga Nacional, leading to generally lower yields .Maturation was delayed as a result of the cool season and harvest was interrupted by rain on 21 September.

No great surprise then that this was not much declared, although Noval , who seem to like being different, did declare and the result is commendable. There were also Single Quintas, as usual, notably from Vargellas and Vesuvio.
