2011 Alsace

An early vintage, producing large amounts of bright sunny wines with relatively low acidity for early to medium term consumption. Summer was also early and hot, accelerating ripening, while fortunately a cool August helped to fix what little acidity remained. Less hot than the 2009s, 2011 Alsace wines are crunchy and sapid.
