Dense purple centre with bright rim. This is tightly knit but with power to open out into a glorious glass of wine. A touch of oak for the moment coating the suave and sensual fruit. Red and black together, good acidity and a notably silky finish. Impressive structure for this medium-bodied Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru wine.

Soft wood frames the pure, elegant and notably cool red cherry liqueur and mineral-infused nose that precedes the energetic and moderately firm middle weight flavors that brim with a lovely stoniness on the focused and exquisitely well-detailed finish. A classic Champeaux where the underlying tannins are very sophisticated. Drink 2018+. Outstanding.

Quite dark crimson. Purple even. Quiet nose. Rather muted for Bernstein with all the quality welling up on the end. Fine tannins. A little reserved. But very dry and convincing. Drink 2016-2023.
