The market for non-Scotch whiskies is blossoming as never before, with new or revamped distilleries and new styles that masterfully combine elements of tradition and innovation. 

Demand is certainly driven by the increased recognition of the inherent qualities in these whiskies, attested by their performance in international whisky competitions year in year out. Take for example Hibiki 17yo, Japanese Blended Whisky, that has won silver in the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2006.
