Olivier Leflaive


Olivier Leflaive worked for many years at his family-owned Domaine Leflaive before setting up on his own in 1985. He employed the talented Jean-Marc Boillot as winemaker and initially had no vineyards and bought in grapes from selected growers. Today Olivier Leflaive owns 35 hectares of vineyards and produces around 70,000 case of wine a year from a mind-boggling 65 different appellations. 10% of the production comes from his own vineyards, with the remainder coming from carefully chosen growers.

Under the auspices of winemaker Frank Grux, the wines are vinified exactly as they would be at any other first-class Burgundy domaine, with all the whites being barrel-fermented and being aged in small oak barriques. The wines are hallmarks of elegance and purity rather than muscle and are more than worthy of the famous Leflaive name.
