The Domaine de La Janasse Dinner, Friday 4 July 2014
Napoleon Cellar Dinners
Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine company. Tucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.
The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.
Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.

Description
Guest speaker: Isabelle Sabon, Owner & Winemaker
Domaine de la Janasse was established in Corthezon in 1973 by Aimé Sabon. Brother and sister team Christophe and Isabelle Sabon continue to work wonders here, where they make distinctly up-market Côtes –du –Rhône and highly acclaimed Châteauneuf –du-Pape. Indeed at the recent BBR 2012 En Primuer tasting, Janasse was the ‘go-to ’ table of the evening, despite some very impressive competition. The wines exude Southern warmth and power, certainly, but also freshness and purity. To achieve all of these things is rare indeed, and Janasse do so consistently across their magnificent range.
