Description
Not only the quintessential Englishman’s drink, but a wine of virtually eternal keeping properties, huge complexity and versatile food matching capacity, vintage Port evokes warm feelings (quite literally) in those who love and appreciate it. The evening will start with a refreshing white Port and tonic, before we commit vinous infanticide with the delightfully juicy younger vintages, taste our way through the youthful developing wines, and arrive at the varyingly mature wines of the 1980s and 1970s. Perfectly matched plates of food will be on hand to add ballast to what promises to be a high octane event. Your host, Demetri Walters MW, is already getting very excited by the prospect of the evening’s deliciousness.
