Description

Englishman Michael Hall’s first career was as a jewellery valuation expert to the top auction houses, but his passion through all his adult life has been wine. His sole objective is to make wines which reflect their individual terroirs, and to this end he sources fruit from carefully-chosen plots throughout the best wine-producing regions of South Australia, creating small-volume, highly individual wines which are true expressions of their origins. The response and critical acclaim has been remarkable: James Halliday and Nick Stock, Australia’s foremost wine critics, have consistently awarded Michael’s wines marks in the high 90s. Join Michael, Lance and our Australian Buyer, Catriona Felstead MW, for a fun Australian lunch as we draw closer to Christmas.

N.B. Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd stocks at the time of the event, so most will be available to order afterwards

Napoleon Cellar Luncheons

Napoleon Cellar Luncheons

Get away from the hustle and bustle by joining us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Luncheons where you'll be treated to fine wine, fine cuisine and fine company.

Tucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.

Housed within the impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar, so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848, you will be treated to a truly unforgettable luncheon.

Lunch commences at 12.45pm with a refreshing aperitif to whet your appetite ahead of a sumptuous three-course lunch. Your host will introduce and talk about each superb wine (minimum of five) as they are served to you.
