Description

Join us for an evening of Champagne and discover the ways in which tasting can be influenced by music. Champagne touches all the senses, from the sound of a popping cork to the sight, sound and touch of rising bubbles, or that pink-hued rosé. Then there are the aromas and flavours of the numerous styles that you will discover. We will be joined by Professor Barry C. Smith, Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Centre for the Study of the Senses. He is fascinated by the sense of taste and particularly the taste of Champagne. He will be playing various sounds during the tasting and your role is to recognise if you have an emotional reaction as you sip your Champagne that is different either to silence or to the other sounds. We think this will be hugely interesting, and also fun. So come and discover the whys and wherefores of Champagne and learn how much the sense of sound contributes to your preferences.

N.B. Wines for this event will have been chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd historic stocks and may not be available to order following the event

Hosted by Edwin Dublin,
