Description

Join Catherine Owen in the Pickering Cellar for a highly informative presentation on the diverse selection of wines to be found in this north-west corner of Italy. Literally called ‘the foot of the mountain’, nestling as it does in the foothills of the Alps, the region boasts a wide range of vineyards and soil types suited to a collection of native grape varieties including Dolcetto, Barbera, Arneis, Cortese and Nebbiolo. Catherine will, tonight, demystify the various styles for you in a fascinating and educational tasting of 12 different wines from the region.

Wines to be tasted:

2012 Prosecco Asolo 'Millesimato', Bele Casel, Veneto
2013 Gavi di Gavi, Bric Sassi, Roberto Sarotto, Piedmont
2013 Barbera d'Asti, Da Sul, Laiolo Reginin, Piedmont
2012 Roero Arneis, Cornarea, Canale, Piedmont
2012 Il Montino, Colli Tortonesi, La Colombera, Piedmont
