Description

Our Fine Wine Feasts are relaxed food and wine matching dinners held in our newly opened Sussex Cellar. The evenings are based around seven food-friendly wines which have been chosen to complement a three-course meal of larger plates and side dishes. We start the series tonight with a Mardi Gras-inspired celebration featuring a New Orleans-themed menu. Expect gumbo and grits, and spicy Creole flavours courtesy of Head Chef Stewart Turner. Paired with the food will be a range of diverse wines from North America and beyond which your host Barbara will delight in talking you through over the course of the evening.

Wines to be tasted:
Domaine de Grand Pré Pomme d'Or Ice Cider, Nova Scotia, Canada
Champagne R&L Legras, Blanc de Blancs
2013 Sancerre Blanc, Les Cris, Brigitte et Daniel Chotard, Loire
2012 Turley Fredericks Vineyard Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley, California, USA
2012 Ramey Chardonnay, Woolsey Road, Russian River Valley, California, USA
2012 Mountain White, Telmo Rodriguez, Sierras de Malaga, Spain
2012 Barbera d'Alba, Cascina Fontana, Piedmont, Italy
2011 De Martino Alto de Piedras Single Vineyard Carménère, Maipo Valley, Chile

Hosted by Barbara Drew, Wine Education Specialist

N.B. Wines for this event have been chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd historic stocks and may not be available to order following the event.

Sussex Cellar Dinners

Sussex Cellar Dinners

Escaping the hustle and bustle of St James’s Street, step into the quiet of Pickering Place and through a secret door in one of our historic townhouses, and down into our Sussex Cellar. Spread over two levels the Sussex Cellar combines modern architectural innovation with the feel of our historic cellars.

Arrive from 6.30pm for an apéritif on the mezzanine level, and then descend one floor to take your seats in the Sussex Cellar. Our Head Chef Stewart Turner and his team will serve up a series of dishes designed to partner each glass of wine you are served, and your host will be on hand to answer questions and share their extensive wine knowledge.
