Description

Enjoy a Champagne welcome in the Pickering Cellar with Head of Wine School Rebecca Lamont before a two-hour session designed to build your confidence in wine tasting. No matter your level of expertise, you will have numerous thoughts and impressions from the moment a mouthful of wine hits your palate.

Tonight Rebecca hopes to teach you to trust these instincts, helping you grow in confidence. You will learn to identify acidity, tannins, alcohol level, different vessels and the age of wine. This will be done with the help of Champagne, Chablis, a top Californian Chardonnay from David Ramey, German Riesling, Beaujolais, Amarone, Ribera del Duero and a fantastic Gran Reserva Rioja. Each wine has a teaching point that will pique your interest to learn more.

Wines to be tasted:
Berry Bros. & Rudd Champagne by Mailly, Grand Cru
2014 Petit Chablis, Les Allées du Domaine, Domaine d'Henri
2014 Kumeu River Mate's Vineyard Chardonnay, Kumeu, Auckland
2013 Riesling QbA, Dönnhoff, Nahe
2014 Beaujolais-Villages, Lantignié, Alexandre Burgaud
