Description

Although disparate both geographically and culturally, the wines of these two Mediterranean countries share more similarities than at first glance: a range of climates including warm regions (leading to ripe, fruity styles), unusual indigenous grape varieties, long ageing periods for traditional reds and a modern revolution leading to the production of international styles. This evening Wine and Spirit Education Specialist Barbara Drew will lead you through six blind comparisons, showing you just how similar the wines of these two countries are, and how to distinguish their respective styles. We'll cover whites and rosés before exploring a range of reds, including both traditional and more modern styles. The evening will be ideal for exam students as well as those wanting to learn more about these two classic countries. Hosted by Barbara Drew, Wine and Spirit Education Specialist
