Drinking beautifully now, this a quality all rounder from a super vintage. Smooth tannins, dark fruit and a soft finish.
The bottle we tasted was in immaculate condition allowing the wine to display at its very best. Perhaps the most notable thing about this wine is that there is absolutely nothing to criticise, nothing too hard or too sharp or too soft or too strong. There are no little niggles to question. It's certaintly not perfect but it's not boring either.

Tasted at Lynch horizontal dinner, was served with a fish course believe it or not. Come to think of it, have seen this also on the winelist of a renowned mayfair fish restaurant.
Bursting with fruit, and oozing cigar box aromas. Nicely in its drinking window. The 1990 was the wine of the night, but I actually preferred this over the 1982. Can be enjoyed with anything.

An amazing wine, the first time I had the the entire table all agreed this was the best BDX we had ever tasted which was quite a statement given the night and what else was on the menu that evening. It has since only been bettered for me by the 1982 LB but I think this had the potential to get there over time if you can leave it alone. Black fruits, soft tannins, cassis, mushroom, leather lead pencil and the most extraordinary balance and precision and an epic long finish -it's only going to get better. A great wine and not one to miss, I bought a case :)

A fantastic wine. Just super, beautifully ripe fruit. The finish is so, so long. But Parker has, in my humble opinion, got his scoring wrong on this one. The 1995 is to my palate, and to the majority of my companions that day, even better. The difference is not massive but the Parker scoring does get reflected in the pricing.
