Description

Eben Sadie, surely the most innovative and probably one of the most brilliant of South Africa's wine producers, has introduced changes to the blend of his white Sequillo with the 2010 vintage in a bid to give it even more freshness. To the traditional blend of Grenache Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Viognier and Roussanne he has now added a dash of Palomino and Clairette, chosen because of the additional acidity they impart. The bouquet displays lovely ripe, tropical notes, as one has grown to expect from Chenin Blanc grown in Swartland, but then the palate follows through with excellent ripeness balanced by a steely core of acidity, with excellent concentration, purity and length. Lovely on its own but really shows its mettle when partnered with some firm-fleshed fish like Dover Sole.
