Matusalem Rum
Introduced in Santiago de Cuba in 1872, Matusalem Rum's reputation spread when Cuba became the destination of choice for celebrities and trendsetters from the 1930s through the 1950s.
However, with the rise of the Castro revolution, Matusalem Rum manufacturing was stopped in Cuba and moved to the Dominican Republic.

Description
Smooth, with a sweet buttery and toffee aroma. Not as much oak as in other aged rums, yet the aromatic intensity is as powerful as in a young rum. It might not be as complex as the Havana Club, or as smooth as Mount Gay Extra Old, but it is distinct. It is the happy medium, between a fierce, vivid young rum and the gentle, caramel-like aged rums.
