Learn more about RoeroRead more
The wine appellation of Roero is the largest of the lesser-known Nebbiolo growing zones in Piedmont, with almost 200ha under vine.
It has mainly sandy soils. The wines are undeniably lighter than Barolo, but also more vibrant and juicy; and although they rarely have comparable ageing ability, Roero wines are more approachable in their youth and enjoyable in the short to medium term.
