Taking its name from “Mi gente” meaning “my people”, Mijenta Tequila has its ethos firmly planted in the spirit of community and sustainability. It was founded by a group of people, each bringing their own expertise to the world of Tequila. They are former Bacardi CEO Mike Dolan, mixologist and entrepreneur Juan Coronado, sustainable designer Elise Som, and Maestra Tequilera Ana Maria Romero.
Mijenta’s Tequilas are made with only Blue Weber Agave, grown in the Mexican highlands of Jalisco without the use of pesticides. They are also unfiltered, the labels are made of agave waste, and the boxes are made from recycled paper. Mijenta has been B-Corp certified since 2022.
Mijenta’s core products are its Blanco and Reposado Tequilas—classic expressions of these two types. Its Cristalino Tequila is oak-aged before being filtered through charcoal for extra clarity and precision. Mijenta’s most exclusive and limited bottling is the Añejo Gran Reserva. Aged for 18 months in four different cask types, it draws different flavours and characteristics from each one for extra complexity and depth.
