The Lakes, Whiskymaker's Edition, Infinity, Single Malt Whisky, England (52%)

It has become no surprise, when tasting a release from our friends in Cumbria, that a complex symphony of oak awaits the eager palate. Meticulously-chosen sherry casks inflect every intriguing moment of this whisky, leaving their mark in mulled-wine notes on the palate and an almost ecumenical nose of sandalwood, incense, and polished pews. Orange oil and marshmallows appear on the finish, with some menthol. This would be sublime alongside stollen, or even some plump beef jerky - although easy on the spice. The whisky has more than enough for the whole table!
