Vaudésir

Chablis, located in the northernmost part of Burgundy, France, is known for producing some of the world's finest and most sought-after Chardonnay wines. Within Chablis, several distinct vineyard sites classified as "Grand Cru" are considered the highest quality and most prestigious. Vaudésir is one of these revered Grand Cru vineyards. Vaudésir benefits from a specific terroir that sets it apart; the soils are primarily Kimmeridgian clay-limestone, which contains fossilised oyster shells and other marine sediments. This unique soil composition imparts mineral flavours and a distinct chalky character to the wines.

The vineyards typically have a favourable south or southeast-facing aspect, ensuring better sun exposure, which helps the grapes ripen more evenly, resulting in wines with balanced acidity and ripe fruit flavours.
