Learn more about KremstalRead more
Kremstal covers 2,250 hectares of vineyards spread across various small villages and the town of Krems south of the Danube river in Lower Austria. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are the dominant grape varieties here.
Geologically similar to the neighbouring Wachau, Kremstal lies on clay and limestone rich soils, which impart a distinct minerality to the wines. The region benefits from the warm, humid conditions created by the proximity to the Pannonian plain to the east and the temperature-regulating effect of Danubes large water surface. Reflecting typicity of the area are the juicy and finesse-rich Grüner Veltliners and Rieslings.
