Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi is a significant white wine DOC in the central-eastern Marche region with around 3,000ha of vines on deep coastal clay soils that run down to the Adriatic Sea.
The appellation has extremely high yields with an eye-watering average of 100 hl/ha. Verdicchio - otherwise known as Trebbiano di Soave - is the grape of choice here. The wines tend to be light-bodied and straightforward with the best examples soft and round with good citrus fruit and a streak of minerality
