2021 Cristom Vineyards, Mt. Jefferson Cuvée, Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
Cristom Vineyards is an Oregon wine estate based in the Eola-Amity Hills wine region within the Willamette Valley AVA. Run by the engineer and biochemist Paul Gerrie, it was established in 1992, and it encompasses seven distinct vineyards and 65 acres. The vineyards are planted to high density and yields are low.
The Pinot Noir vineyards (named after family members) include Marjorie, Louise, Jessie, Eileen and Emile, and vineyard-bottlings are produced from each. There is also a Reserve and a Mt Jefferson blend of the appellation. These are outstanding Pinot Noirs with a Burgundian charm and elegance that can age very well.
