Château L'Enclos is a medium sized Pomerol estate that is now owned and managed by Hugues Weydert. Unlike many Pomerol properties L'Enclos has its own Château which was built in 1898. Its 9.5 hectares of vineyards are located in the far west of the Pomerol appellation and are planted with Merlot (82%), Cabernet Franc (17%), and Malbec (1%).
The grapes are hand harvested and are then fermented in temperature controlled tanks for 3-4 weeks. The wine is then matured in small oak barriques (one third new) for 18 months.
