Weingut Velich is a small family estate which was originally established in the 1930s. Today the estate is run by 3rd generation brothers Roland and Heinz Velich. The vineyards have recently been expanded from 3 to 10 hectares, with a new winery being completed in time for the 1999 vintage.

Most of the Chardonnay is planted on loam and gravel and sand around Lake Neusiedl. Both Tiglat and Darscho are fermented and matured in French barriques, a percentage of which is new. Tiglat, from a single vineyard, is now recognised as one of Austria's best Chardonnays.
