The excellent Château d’Arche has been managed by the Famous Bordeaux negociant house, Mahler-Besse, since 1994. Mahler-Besse is most famous for owning the great Margaux, Château Palmer. Originally classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, the château is situated in the centre of the town of Ludon.
Château d’Arche is planted with 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Carmenère, this blend gives a typical, elegant Haut-Mèdoc style to the wine. A long, slow fermentation is followed by sixteen months ageing in oak barrels, one third of the barrels are new each year.
