El Camino del Pensador, Mezcal, Batch A4 Oaxaca, Mexico (48%)

The fourth batch of Pensador’s benchmark Ensamble is a masterful marriage. Perhaps the two best-known Agave varietals used for mezcal – Espadin and Madrecuishe – were paired together. Then, gentle citrus fruit notes created by cooler winter-time production were partnered with deeper, earthier flavours conjured by production in warmer months. Joyously scented and mouth-wateringly moreish, this is one to sip with friends.
