Delivery

To protect both our customers and staff, we have made some changes to how we deliver. We continue to review these changes in line with current guidance; this page was last updated on 24th November 2020.

Our drivers will no longer be able to bring deliveries into your home, and we won’t be asking you to sign for deliveries. You’ll receive photographs as proof of delivery instead.


You can currently collect orders from our London Shop and our Warehouse Shop in Basingstoke.

**Deliveries to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Isles of Scilly and some areas of Scotland take from six to 10 working days. Specified Day, Next Day and Saturday delivery services are not available for these areas. See further details.

Wines delivered from Customers’ Private Reserves

  • Standard (within three working days) and Specified Day options: free of charge
  • Saturday deliveries: £15.00
  • Pre-10.30am deliveries (not available on Saturdays): £25.00
  • Highlands and Islands and Northern Ireland: Specified Day, Saturday, Pre-10am and Next Day delivery are not available
  • Next Day delivery is not available from Customers’ Private Reserves
  • Delivery to a UK bonded warehouse will incur a charge of £15 for the first case and £1 per additional case.

How to choose a delivery date 

  • Under the “Choose a delivery date” section of checkout (on the “Delivery” stage), select the option “Specified Date UK delivery”
  • Pick a date in the online calendar that opens up underneath
  • If you do not choose a delivery date, your order will be delivered within three working days.

Delivery Instructions

  • If possible, please let us know where your order can be left if you are out.
  • Use the Delivery Instructions box located on the delivery page during checkout.
  • If the wine delivery cannot be completed a card will be left with a phone number so another delivery day can be arranged. We must either obtain a signature or know where the consignment can be left (as above).

Important Notes

  • At busier times, your order might be split across different deliveries. You will receive separate email and text notifications for each part of your order if this happens.
  • Mixed cases cannot be subsequently split for delivery to more than one address.
  • All glassware, accessories and books are subject to special delivery terms regardless of whether they are part of a wine order. Please contact us for further details.
  • We do not deliver glassware to Northern Ireland.

Corporate orders

To guarantee delivery in the UK by Christmas, orders must be received before midday on Tuesday 22nd December 2020.

While not guaranteed, orders will still be accepted after this date and every effort will be made to deliver prior to Christmas.

Parcels indicated on the order form for Christmas delivery will be despatched from Tuesday 1st December 2020.

At busier times, your order might be split across different deliveries. You will receive separate email and text notifications for each part of your order if this happens.

During this busy period we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates or times and are not able to advise recipients of impending deliveries.

It is important to complete the Delivery Instructions box (eg If not in please leave with neighbour at Number 43) and to provide a contact number.

Guaranteed delivery dates may be earlier for parcels being delivered to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles and some areas of Scotland and for overseas orders. Please call 0800 280 2440 for more information.

Orders must be received by 6pm on Tuesday 8th December 2020 for all export orders (excluding Switzerland, the Channel Islands and the EU) and by 6pm on Wednesday 16th December 2020 for orders being delivered to Switzerland, the Channel Islands and the EU.

We deliver to many countries worldwide using a network of experienced wine shippers and couriers, subject to individual countries’ rules on the importation of alcohol.

Export orders are subject to a minimum order value of £100 (excluding delivery charges) per delivery address. Overseas orders may be liable to import taxes in the destination country, which the recipient will be liable for unless paid in advance at the time of placing the order.

Export deliveries are subject to customs clearance which is outside our control. We accept no liability for delays caused by customs authorities. All overseas orders are packed in export cartons for safe transit; if you require us to send original wooden cases or gift packaging with your order, please notify us when placing your order.

We regret that we are not able to send any parcels containing foodstuffs, glassware or wooden boxes outside the UK. For gifts that are packed into cardboard gift boxes, are available for export but will be removed from the gift box prior to export, to ensure safe delivery.

Export Orders





We deliver wines to a large number of countries worldwide using a network of experienced wine shippers. Export deliveries are door-to-door and are usually completed within seven to ten working days. Please note, shipments of over five cases will require additional time for processing and delivery, please contact exports@bbr.com for more information.

Minimum order value
Deliveries outside the UK are subject to a minimum order value of £100 per delivery address ,excluding the delivery charge.

UK VAT
Orders to the EU will be UK-VAT inclusive unless you are buying through a registered company.
Prices for wine orders outside the EU will be exclusive of UK VAT

Export delivery charges marked as “TBC”
If export delivery charges in your online order are marked TBC (“to be confirmed”) then no payment will be taken until we have contacted you by email or phone to confirm you accept the delivery charges.

Local taxes – non-EU deliveries
All orders for delivery outside the EU may be liable to local duties and taxes for which customers are responsible. The local delivery agent in your destination country will contact you to arrange payment of these taxes.
If your order is a gift, please contact us as soon as you place the order at bbr@bbr.com, quoting your order reference number and we may be able to arrange for you to pay these on behalf of the recipient of your gift.

Packaging
All overseas orders will be re-packed in export cartons for safe transit; we may be able to arrange to ship original cases if requested when the order is placed. Please contact us for further details.

Please note that we cannot export: glassware (including decanters), items that contain foodstuffs, or mixed cases of wines and/or spirits. Furthermore, we do not export spirits to the USA. For further information please contact us.
