Grenache Around the World, Thursday 13th June 2024

A mainstay of wines from revered regions such as Châteauneuf du Pape and Priorat, Grenache is one the most noble of Mediterranean grape varieties and produces some of the most riveting red wines the world over. This varietal deep dive tasting is part of series of masterclasses in our Pickering Cellar where we explore the characteristics of a single grape variety in all its iterations. 
 
Over the course of two hours, we will sample top wines from the Rhône and Catalunya, alongside examples from more recently established regions such as Washington and Barossa. We will discuss various sub-themes such as climate, geology, winemaking and aging, in order to try and fully understand this wonderful variety in its myriad of styles.
