One Day Wine School
Our one-day wine schools are a great way to get a thorough overview of a region in a day.
Starting in the morning with tea and coffee on arrival, we spend around 2 hours exploring the region, with 8-12 wines showcasing all different styles. With the basics covered, we head to our vaulted Napoleon cellar for an aperitif and to put the morning’s education to the test with 5 more wines paired over a delicious lunch, crafted by Head Chef Stewart Turner.
The day finishes around 3.30pm.

Description
You will be eased into this One-Day Burgundy Wine School with tea, coffee and biscuits, before we launch into a tasting of 10 Burgundies, comparing the wines and listening to the differing views of all. We will cover the quality hierarchy of Burgundy and the key characteristics that this region is famous for, including Grand Cru, Premier Cru and village wines.
This will be followed with a Burgundy-themed luncheon, for which our Head Chef will design a three-course repast. Alongside the food we will taste five more villages, including Clos de Vougeot, Corton Charlemagne, Volnay, Pommard and Clos de la Roche from Morey-St Denis. At the end of the day you should have a clear picture of why Burgundy’s wines taste the way they do, which producers you enjoy and how to continue exploring this much-loved region.
