This six-bottle selection has been put together by Edwin Dublin, Manager of our London Shop at 63 Pall Mall.
In anticipation of our London Shop re-opening on 13th April, I’ve put together a selection that brings back memories of tasting from our enomatic machines or with the producers in the shop.
First up is a new-wave sparkler from Raventós; with its delicious freshness, it banishes all memories of rubbery cava. Moving onto another Spanish wine, the Louro is made from the Godello grape. It’s as cultish as Albariño, with a supple, very moreish texture alongside that white peach character – a firm favourite. In France, the warm 2018 vintage produced some fabulously rich wines, adding a lush touch to the Cabernet Franc of Mabileau’s Loire red. The warm ’18 vintage also adds deep, black-fruited depths to the Vacqueyras. Over to New Zealand, Isabel Estate’s Sauvignon Blanc is given a mellow touch of difference through the use of oak; and in South Africa, Constantia Glen successfully echo the wines of Bordeaux with their blend of three revered French varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
This case contains one of each of the following:
2017 Raventós i Blanc, Blanc de Blancs, Brut, Penedès, Spain 2019 Isabel Estate, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand 2019 Louro do Bolo, Rafael Palacios, Valdeorras, Spain 2018 St Nicolas de Bourgueil, Les Rouillères, Frédéric Mabileau, Loire 2016 Constantia Glen, Three, Constantia, South Africa 2018 Vacqueyras, Pavane, La Bastide St Vincent, Rhône
