Padthaway is a veritable trough for Australia’s corporates. This 35 year-old South Australian wine region is hotter and drier than its Limestone Coast neighbours Wrattonbully and Coonawarra further south. Climate, along with its dense terra rossa soil, influences the region's wine styles which are dominated by unoaked Chardonnays and concentrated Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Verdelho wines.
Powerful, punchy red wines are produced from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.
