Morey-Coffinet

Morey-Coffinet

Domaine Morey-Coffinet is one of the youngest in Chassagne and only began estate bottling in 1990. Michel Coffinet runs the property, which evolved in 1979 through a merger of vineyards from Marc Morey, Michel`s father, and Ferdinand Coffinet, his father-in-law.

Michel has just over 7 hectares in Chassagne and vinifies his whites traditionally with fermentation starting in tanks before being transferred into wooden casks. The wines only spend 11 months in oak, as Michel wishes to retain youthful aromas, before being bottled with a light fining but without being filtered. These are top-class wines that are absolutely delicious when young but have the depth of fruit and structure to enable them to improve with keeping.
