Described as a cuvée parcellaire from the very best sites, the Gabriel is an equal blend of Syrah and Grenache. Vinification takes place with whole bunches in an open-capped vat with regular pigeage and a lengthy maceration. The wine then enjoys 18 months in oak barrel; the old vine Grenache is especially impressive at this early stage of development, rich and quietly persuasive. Gabriel announces the arrival of this appellation and producer, both of whom will surely gain far wider recognition. Drink 2020-2023. Simon Field MW, Wine Buyer
